Change of Plans!!

Well, we have had a change of plans in our living situation. We went and looked at a house to rent on Friday, and we loved it. We called the guy that showed it to us, went and got the keys, and moved stuff in on Saturday. Justin hunted down a few guys from the ward to come and help, and they are going to come on Wednesday to finish. I have to spend the rest of the day packing up the few things that we have, and we will be moved. I'm super excited about the house. It's 14 miles out of town. It's in the middle of a field and our closest neighbors are 1 mile away. Pretty much what we are looking for. The rent is extremely reasonable for the house. It has 3 bedrooms and a huge kitchen. Here are some pictures. I'll post more later!

Part of the Kitchen. It has a dishwasher and I can't wait!

Yes, it has 2 ovens!! I'm super excited. Lots of cookies!!

The killer floor in the kitchen!! It's very fashionable!!

The front room. It's pretty big!

The bathroom!

Church Callings!

Well, what happens when a young couple moves to a new ward? They get callings INSTANTLY!! Last Sunday I was called to be a nursery leader. Pretty much the easiest calling in the world! Justin was called the be the 1st counselor in the new Young Men's Presidency. They are re-organizing it and he is really excited about it. Well, that's what happens when you move! Wish us luck!

Our New Home!

Our Current Home!

Our New Home!

In case you are wondering, NO we did not buy a house! I can only wish. We are actually going to house-sit for a man here in town that is going on vacation for 1 month. He met Justin at the FSA office and asked him last week if we were interested. I was really concerned about it at first. You know, the fact that I didn't know who he was. Well, everyone at Justin's office was telling me how awesome he was. We went up and met him on Saturday, and as of the 27th, we will NOT be living in the hotel! I'm really just happy to get out of this small place and actually have a kitchen, fridge, stove, etc. It's a really big house. It's pretty much like a whole other apartment in the basement. It really needs some updating. In one of the rooms in the basement, there is zebra carpet!! It's sexy! Anyone who wants to come and visit me is more then welcome! I would love to have some visitors in the town of Nezperce! It gets pretty lonely.

Just Another Day!

Well, another week has come and gone. This week wasn't very exciting in the lives of the Allen's. Justin started his job on Monday. He has to be there at 7. Thankfully, he just work down the road and so he can leave at 6:55 and be there on time. As for me, I didn't do very much this week. I did get a job at the local jail working dispatch. It's not the ideal job that I was looking for, but as for now, anything will do. I start that tomorrow at 7 and so Justin and I can walk to work together. It's going to be nice not having to buy gas every 3 days! That's a relief.

We took a drive on Friday to Orofino. It's a small town. It reminds us a lot of Preston. There is a lot of similar things here as there is back home.

Today at church was very good. Everyone there is so nice. The bishop keeps calling Justin-Travis. I'm not really sure where that came from. We met another young couple and they invited us over for dinner next week. They have come young kids, but there isn't very many younger couples in the ward. We are pretty sure they are rich because they pulled up to church in an Escalade! We are a little excited!

We are still in the hunt for another place to live. I have to keep the apartment clean or else it seems like it is closing in on us! It's not too difficult with just two of us to keep it clean.

Well, that was just an update for everyone! Nothing too exciting going on up here! We miss you all back home!!

Our Apartment!

This is our oven/stove/toaster oven!

One of our closets doubling as a tack shed!

Justin pulling a nice face & showing off out front room/kitchen

Our front room leading into the bathroom

Our very small bathroom that connects the front room & the bedroom

Our bedroom. It's a little messy because I hadn't finished unpacking.

Our bedroom. Our mattress was wet and I was trying to dry it out!
So this is where we live. We are very cozy. We live in the Nezperce hotel. We are going to keep looking for somewhere else to live. We don't have everything even here and it is very full! There are 3 little heaters that are in the walls and I didn't think that they would keep us that warm, but they do. We have a view of the post office out our windows. I will take pictures of the town and post them later. We miss everyone back home!

The Wonders of Northen Idaho!

So we had another adventure today. Yesterday was a lazy and hard day. Justin & I were both exhausted from moving and unpacking all day. After we went to Craigmont, which is 15 miles away, we came home and just hung out. Justin took a nap and the apartment was driving me crazy, so I let him be and cleaned up. Today we went with our new friends and neighbors, Hanna and Daryl, to Lewiston. Hanna and Daryl live in the apartment next to us and they have a 4 month old son. They are super nice people. Anyway, we went to Lewiston with them and got a few groceries. They have a Wal-Mart (not a Supercenter) and so we got a few things there. Then we went to Albertson's and got some fruits and veggies to get us by for a few days. Justin then bought me 2 pairs of shoes for my birthday! Isn't he sweet?!?! Now we are just chilling out watching Napoleon Dynamite waiting for our friends to get back and then I'm sure we will end up playing the Wii or going to their place to play World Tour!

We really miss everybody back home, but we know that we are supposed to do this. We are excited to go to church tomorrow. We have to drive to Kamiah which is 20 or so miles. It's going to be weird not being able to leave 5 minutes before church starts. At least we have a church to go to! Love to everyone back home!

Our New Adventure

Well, we have successfully started our newest adventure in life. Justin got a job in Nezperce, Idaho and so we have moved! My parents came up with us with their horse-trailer, and it was loaded to the top. We stopped in Boise and stayed at April's on Wednesday night and then left at 8 am on Thursday and drove until about 2:30. The roads were awful and scary. I was in my car by myself and it got a little lonely. I don't like driving on slick roads anywhere, let alone, on the side of a mountain on a steep hill. Anyway, my mom and I were trying to organize stuff as the guys were bringing it into the apartment. Our apartment is in an old motel. It's pretty much just 3 rooms combined to be 1 big apartment. It's really different coming to this from a house. We didn't have enough room in out apartment, and so we had to take some stuff to a storage unit. Justin starts his job on Monday and so that will be interesting. I'm going to try and find me a job ASAP!! I can't sit around here all day!

Well, a little about Nezperce. It has about 500 people. It's in the middle of nowhere, but yet has a John Deere and a Case dealership in town. Everybody is a little redneck. You have to go through all these different canyons to get here, and then all of a sudden, you see some huge grain elevators and that's us. Grangeville is about 30 miles from here and Lewiston is about 45 miles. Lewiston has a Wal-Mart, so we all know that I'm going to get used to driving that road!
