These Wonderful Days!!

We have had some of the most fantastic days lately. The weather has been in the 70s and has been so lovely. I worked outside on Saturday and got a little red. For me, I barely have to be outside and it looks like I got a sunburn. My skin is still a little pink and so it is nice to finally have some color after the winter. Our lives are going strong and crazy! As of today, we have to take care of 2 different neighbors animals. This all consists of feeding 2 dogs, 2 cats, 7 cows, 5 horses, 7+ rabbits, and feeding and gathering eggs for 60+ chickens. I'm pretty sure that it will take us a while to get all of it done. The animals are all spread out and so Justin and I have figured out a plan to try and get it done the quickest.

Dunder is doing awesome. He is so hyper! You can't even walk without him tripping you. He does really good to stay around the house. He is starting to venture out into the pasture a little bit more everyday. He also likes to hang out in the driveway. That is usually where he is when we come home. We have a tree stump in our front yard that he learned that he likes. Well, needless to say, he has started digging around it.
The dirt used to be level with the edge of the tree. He has dug holes all the way around it, and has been chewing off the bottom parts of it. You can see the lovely holes that he has created. At least he's not digging up my flowers!

He gets really excited when Justin and I get home from work. He knows that it means we are going to be outside with the horses and that we'll play with him. The horses are getting to know him too. Chill still doesn't like him, but Charlie doesn't seem to mind. Luckily, he hasn't got kicked.....yet! Here are some pictures I took this morning after he had been digging in the dirt. He was pouting because I wouldn't let him jump up on me when I was trying to get to the car!
Can't wait to get home to that ;) Luckily, I bought a brush today so he is going to get a good brushing when I get to him.

Our Baby!!!!!!

Meet DUNDER!!  He is our puppy that we went and picked up on Friday. Isn't he so cute? Many people are wondering about the name. If you have ever seen "The Office" you know exactly where the name comes from. We thought it sounded like a good dog name. It's original. He is only about 8 weeks old. Yesterday he figured out how to climb our steps, so now when we are going in the house he is right behind you. He is starting to like us more and more everyday. He doesn't venture very far from our house, which we are extremely grateful for. He hasn't figured out the horses yet. I'm hoping he won't until he gets a little bit bigger. Whenever he gets excited, he does this little jump that cracks us up. He does get sad when we leave him. I didn't want to come to work today because he was so sad.  He is just starting to figure out his growl and his bark. He was wrestling with an old apple that he found outside and he just kept growling at it.

Justin had a lady bring a horse yesterday for him to break. He decided that he might as well work with him a little bit since we had some daylight. He's a little jumpy. I thought I would post a few pics so everyone can see the fun we were having. Oh, and the other day there was a pheasant and 2 hens in our yard so I took a picture. Enjoy!

Our Weekend!

My parents were finally able to come up and see us this past weekend. They brought Elija and his friend, Logan. We had a fun time. It was very relaxed and easy-going. We weren't in a hurry to do anything. We just went with the flow of things. It was cold and windy and even ended up snowing. I wish that the weather would have been nicer. On Friday when they arrived, they were all happy to be out of the car. Elija and Logan tried to build a fire in the burn-barrel. We ended up just hanging out and took my parents on a small drive when we had to go and do chores. On Saturday, Elija wanted to ride the horses. Logan had never been on a horse so we broke him in. He seemed to like it.
We went to the fish hatchery and the dam as well. Overall, we had a fun weekend, although it was short and sweet. Thanks mom and dad for coming to see us!

Activities

Our lives seem to be getting busier and busier. Ever since the time changed, we have been getting home with some daylight left. It has been super nice. We are just starting to get in a routine with the horses. One of our neighbors has a few horses that he wants Justin to work with. It's going to be interesting because you can't even get close to them, let alone get on them. It is going to be interesting when we actually start working with them. I told Justin that he's not allowed to go and work with them until I can go with him. I'm not much help, but at least if something does happen, there will be somebody to help him.

My running is going good. I've only ran 2 days, but I sure sleep good at night. The 2nd day was really hard. April keeps telling me that it is going to get easier. Justin marked the road for me and so at least I have a way to gauge how far I've gone. Yesterday I ran 1 mile and only walked for about 20 seconds. Our road has small hills in it and so that creates some good resistance. I'm just proud of myself for running that far. I can't tell you the last time I ran...Yes, I can. It was in High School! At least I have something to look forward to.

My parents are coming up tomorrow! They haven't been up here since the day they moved us over a year ago. They saw it when it was snow-covered and a blizzard. Hopefully this time it will be better. They are bringing Elija up with them because he has wanted to come since we moved. I can't wait for them to come. The visit is going to be short, but I'm sure we will have tons of fun.

Until then.....
